Membership of TIA

The Travel Industry Authority (TIA) is to consist of the following members:

1. the Chairman;
2. the Vice-chairman (the Commissioner for Tourism), and
3. not more than 28 ordinary members.

The trade members comprise individuals who are engaged in inbound and outbound travel agent business, tourist guides and tour escorts, and members of the Board of Directors of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong. Such appointments enable TIA to have a balanced representation from a broad spectrum of the trade. The non-trade members come from various fields and provide invaluable advice to TIA with their expertise and experience from the fields of law, accountancy, finance, education, consumer affairs or general administration or professional experience, thereby helping TIA to effectively gauge different views from outside the trade to assist its discharge of different functions.
